In the Astronomy section you seen a lots of amazing astrophotography made by me, and you surely wondered which kind of instruments i use for this purpose. I use all these instruments:
Celestron C8 Edge HD Celestron is one of the best astronomical brand in the world. In the past NASA used a C5 Celestron telescope for a space mission!
Celestron CG5-GT Mount. This a computerized mount able to find and point many sky objects by itself thanks to the Celestron Nexstar software.
ASI 120mc The ASI 120mc planetary camera by ZWO Design. It's a CMOS sensor designed for taking a great planetary astrophotography. In addiction, i use a Celestron Barlow 2x for reduplicate the telescope's focal length and an Astrosolar filter for the Sun.
Baader UV/IR - Cut/L Filter This filter sometime is important for taking good photos. It is able to cut the ultraviolet and infrared bands that may disturb the picture signal.
MacBook Pro 15" Retina It takes a Portable Computer for controlling the camera. I could find a good OS X software for controlling my ASI (oaCapture) but unlucky, my favorite stacking software (Registax 6) is available just for Windows. Therefore i use BootCamp and Windows 10 on my Mac just for this purpose. That's a pity because Mac is higher for any kind of goal and there is no doubt about that. Anyway the most important requirement that a computer must have for astroimaging is a lots of memory.
Apple Watch Yes, you understood well. Apple Watch is very useful for astronomy. Thanks to the application "Star Walk 2" i can check the sky condition percentage and i can receive a notification when the Sun, the Moon or a planet are available on the Sky.
